The following is an excerpt from Tell Someone, a 6-session Bible study book by Greg Laurie designed to teach Christians how to share the gospel, combining the truth about Jesus Christ with their own story of redemption. Find more information at lifeway.com.
Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” —Mark 16:15
Where and when can you share the gospel? The answer is simple: Right now, wherever you are, and wherever you go. It helps to keep this in mind by personalizing the command.
- Go into all of your family and preach the gospel.
- Go into all of your workplace and preach the gospel.
- Go into all of your neighborhood and preach the gospel.
- Go into all of your world and preach the gospel.
At the end of Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus put it this way.
God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:18-20 (MSG)
I love that don’t you? There’s no mistaking what Jesus is saying. It’s a command: “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near.”
God has put more people in your lives in more places than you likely ever realized. This is no coincidence. So go and tell someone the good news of Jesus Christ.
